Basketball

Basketball is one of the leading sports in Our Lady’s with both boys and girls competing at A Grade the highest level for many years. We have had great successes throughout the years and most recently our U19 Girls made it to the All Ireland A final for the first time in 20 years.

Students have represented our school on both regional and national teams. Prior to covid our u14 boys and girls had qualified for the A all ireland semi finals but unfortunately the games could not take place. Basketball training and competitions take place for U16 / U19 girls and boys before christmas and then for 1st / 2nd years after christmas. Students are offered many opportunities with basketball and often have overnight tournaments and games when they reach the All Ireland Stages. Students in transition year are given the chance to coach the minor teams and take part in other basketball related activities such as wheelchair basketball.
