EMER IS STUDENT OF THE YEAR AT OUR LADY’S
Sixth Year student, Emer Ruddin is the proud recipient of the Gerald F Gillanders Student of the Year Award for 2022, becoming the 37th student to be honoured with this prestigious award. In a ceremony with the full school community last Wednesday Emer received this very prestigious award which was constituted in memory of the late Gerald Gillanders, who was Deputy Principal of Our Lady’s at the time of his sudden death in 1984. Speaking at the school during the week, Principal, Mr Eddie Kelly, congratulated Emer as the Student of the Year for 2022.
“Emer is a fantastic young person and a wonderful role model to her peers and younger students in the school. Emer’s commitment to all aspects of school life has been exemplary, she is a pleasant, caring and diligent student who always does her best and is always so respectful and appreciative of the support and opportunities afforded to her. On behalf of the management and staff, I would like to congratulate Emer and the seven other nominees and thank them for their contribution to school life over the last six years. We are indeed very proud of Emer and all of her classmates in the Leaving Certificate class of 2022 and we extend every good wish to them as they move forward into the next chapter of their lives.’’
