Outstanding Leaving Certificate Success at Our Lady's Secondary School

Our Lady's Secondary School celebrated a wonderful sense of achievement as the Leaving Certificate Class & Leaving Certificate Applied Class of 2026 received their examination results. The outstanding performances across the year group are a testament to the dedication, resilience and determination shown by students throughout their senior cycle. 

Principal, Mr. Eddie Kelly, praised the students on their exceptional achievements. "We are immensely proud of every student in the outgoing 6^th Year group. These results are the reward for years of hard work, commitment and perseverance. Every student, regardless of their chosen pathway or ability, has every reason to be proud of what they have accomplished. A special mention to Darragh Wynne, Matt McNally, Rachel Duffy and Bartek Garnisiewicz, who achieved the maximum 625 points and to Amy Tyndall and Liam Mc Mahon who received a Distinction, the highest possible grade in the Leaving Certificate Applied programme.

The results highlight another exceptional year for the school. Almost fifteen per cent of students achieved over 550 CAO points, while 26 students secured more than 500 points. The overall average CAO score was an impressive 410 points.  Reflecting on the achievements of this year's Leaving Certificate class, Mr. Kelly added:

"As our students embark on the next stage of their lives, whether progressing to university, apprenticeships, further education or employment, they leave Our Lady's equipped not only with excellent academic results but also with the values, character and resilience that have been fostered throughout their time here. Their leadership, integrity and commitment have made a lasting contribution to our school community, and we have every confidence that they will continue to make a positive impact wherever their future takes them." 

Mr. Kelly also acknowledged the significant role played by the school's staff in supporting the success of the Class of 2026. "This success would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our teaching and support staff. Their professionalism, encouragement and genuine care for our students have helped each young person reach their full potential. I would like to sincerely thank them for their outstanding commitment to our school community."
