Prestigious Naughton Scholarship Awarded to Our Lady’s Student

Our Lady’s Secondary School was delighted to receive the news that Jack Brady, from the Leaving Certificate Class 2025, has been awarded the prestigious Naughton Scholarship. Jack now becomes the ninth student from Our Lady’s to receive this scholarship in the past 15 years, an exceptional record by any standard and a source of great pride for the school community. Previous Naughton Scholars from Our Lady’s were awarded in 2010, twice in 2012, and again in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2020, and 2022. Jack’s achievement continues this proud tradition and highlights the school’s strong track record in promoting and teaching STEM subjects.
The Naughton Scholarships recognise students who demonstrate outstanding ability and commitment in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). One scholarship is awarded in each county annually, providing academic and financial support to students as they pursue STEM related studies at third level. Jack, who his currently studying Engineering at University College Dublin, was formally presented with his scholarship at a ceremony held in Trinity College Business School on Saturday, October 17th.
Principal Mr. Eddie Kelly congratulated Jack on his success “This scholarship is a fitting reward for Jack’s hard work, resilience, and his ability to consistently match talent with effort. His interest in science and technology, both within and beyond the classroom, truly sets him apart. Jack is an outstanding ambassador for our school, and we are immensely proud of his achievement. This award also reflects the dedication of our teaching staff, whose tireless commitment to nurturing curiosity and excellence in STEM subjects continues to empower our students to reach their full potential.” The school community at Our Lady’s extends its congratulations to Jack and wishes him every success as he embarks on the next stage of his academic journey.
