Congratulations to the staff and students of Our Lady’s Secondary School after it was announced that the school has been recognised as a Centre of Excellence by Prodigy Learning for the academic years 2020-2021 and an Outstanding Centre of Excellence for 2021-2022. This recognition is a testament to the commitment and hard work of our dedicated staff and the exceptional performance of our students in their Microsoft Office exams. Prodigy Learning is a leading provider of IT certification exams and learning solutions for schools, colleges, and businesses worldwide. Their certification programmes are designed to equip students with the digital skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today's rapidly changing world. The coordinator of the programme for the region Mr. Billy Breen remarked that he was ‘delighted to visit Our Lady’s Secondary School on behalf of Prodigy Learning to present in person both the Centre of Excellence Award and Outstanding Centre Excellence Awards achieved in in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

The school who delivers the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) programme as part of their Digital Skills Strategy achieved these awards by delivering over 500 Microsoft Certification exams in a year for the Outstanding Centre of Excellence award in 2022 and over 250 certified Microsoft exams in 2021 during lockdown remotely. This is a credit to the school management, Microsoft Office Coordinator Ms. Clarke and the IT Team on the great structures they have put in place for digital skills in the school and of course a massive congratulations to the students who achieved their Microsoft Certifications and skills that will stay with them for life. I look forward to working with the school for the coming years as we continue to build on this success.’

Principal of Our Lady’s Secondary School, Mr. Kelly commented that ‘at our school, we recognise the importance of technology in education and have invested heavily in providing our students with the latest digital tools and resources. Our partnership with Prodigy Learning has played a vital role in this endeavour, and we are delighted to see our efforts being recognised to such a high level. These awards reflect the high standards of teaching and learning at our school and the commitment of our staff to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the digital age.
