Our Lady’s Celebrates Annual Awards Night
On Thursday, May 14th, the community of Our Lady’s Secondary School gathered to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its students at the school’s annual Awards Night. The occasion recognised excellence across academic, sporting, cultural and community life, while also highlighting the impressive array of awards and honours presented throughout the evening. Principal Eddie Kelly, alongside Deputy Principals Jane Treanor and Darren Bishop, had the privilege of presenting the awards to deserving students.
In his opening address, Principal Eddie Kelly commended students for their dedication, achievements and enthusiastic involvement in the many opportunities available both within and beyond the classroom. He emphasised that the evening was about far more than academic success alone. “Our students represent Our Lady’s at county, provincial and national level across a wide variety of activities, achieving remarkable success along the way. However, we celebrate not only the success but also the manner in which our students conduct themselves. Courtesy, respect, consideration and empathy are the qualities that distinguish students of Our Lady’s wherever they go. Above all, tonight is about recognising every student who contributed to school life this year. Their individual and collective achievements deserve to be celebrated.”
Mr. Kelly also acknowledged the many people whose support and commitment made the evening possible, expressing sincere thanks to sponsors, parents, staff and students for their hard work and dedication. He noted that the ambition, perseverance and sense of community shown throughout the school are central to the continued success of Our Lady’s Secondary School.
The wide variety of awards presented reflected the breadth of talent, commitment and accomplishment among the student body. From academic excellence and leadership to sport, creativity and service, the ceremony showcased the diverse opportunities available at Our Lady’s and the supportive environment that encourages every student to reach their full potential.
