Our Lady’s Celebrating Student Success in Castleblayney Community Games Art Competition
Congratulations to Our Lady’s Secondary School students on their success in this year’s Castleblayney Community Games Credit Union Art Competition. The talented young artists across several year groups demonstrated creativity, skill, and dedication, earning high praise and top awards across several age categories. In the U-14 Girls category, first place was awarded to Kanishka Bharanidaran, with Kelsey Jane Tavey securing second place and Sophie O'Neill achieving third. In the U-16 Girls category, Alicija Cikotaite impressed the judges to take first place, followed by Meabh Hannon in second and Falynn Coleman in third. The U-16 Boys category was also a triumph, with Ivars Ozols winning first place and Dylan O’Sullivan coming in second.
These remarkable results are a testament to our students' hard work and imagination and the supportive learning environment cultivated within our school. Their achievements reflect individual talent and the strong emphasis our school places on the arts as a vital part of a well rounded education. Speaking on the success, Principal Mr. Kelly commented, "I wish to extend my congratulations to all our students who participated and excelled in the Castleblayney Community Games Art Competition. Your achievements are a source of great pride for our entire school community. I would also like to sincerely thank our Art teacher, Ms. Mc Ardle, whose dedication and encouragement have played a central role in supporting and guiding our students. Competitions like these inspire confidence and creativity, and we are proud to see our students flourish.”
