Friday August 22nd, was a day of great pride, joy and celebration at Our Lady’s Secondary School as the Leaving Certificate class of 2025 received their Leaving Certificate results. The achievements of this year’s group stand as a testament to their dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence, and the whole school community is delighted to celebrate their success.

Principal Mr. Eddie Kelly expressed his congratulations, noting, “We are immensely proud of this year’s results. Every student, regardless of level or ability, has achieved results that they should be very proud of.  Results across all subjects and programmes are in line with or above national averages, and this reflects the hard work of our students, their families, and the dedication of our teaching staff.”

This year’s results were truly exceptional. Seven students achieved in excess of 600 points, with special congratulations going to David Lambe, who reached the maximum 625 points, a remarkable achievement highlighting the commitment and hard work that complimented David’s academic ability. In total, 15% of the year group achieved over 550 points, while 39 students exceeded 500 points, reflecting the consistently high level of performance across the school. In the Leaving Certificate Applied programme, two students earned the top grade of Distinction, further underlining the breadth of excellence across all educational pathways.

Beyond the results, Mr. Kelly highlighted the broader contribution of students to school life. “As these young adults move forward to third level education, apprenticeships, or the workforce, they carry with them not only their excellent results but also the values and qualities that define our school community. Their involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and their support for others has enriched our school and left a lasting legacy. A special tribute must also be paid to our dedicated teaching and support staff whose care, professionalism, and encouragement have guided our students to success.”

As Our Lady’s celebrates these fantastic results, attention now turns to next Wednesday, when the first round of CAO offers will be released. The entire school community looks forward with pride and excitement to seeing this exceptional group of students take the next step on their journeys.
